A very rare Willet carved in a different style for McNair. An amalgamation of Cobb, Hog and Smith Island, Virginia styles. Solid cedar construction in Spring plumage paint with nice patina. Carved eyes, raised wings and primaries and a really cool square hardwood bill splined through the head. Great draw knife marks on the breast and incised McNair signature on the bottom. A real Willet with the white wing patches, much larger than a Yellowlegs.
